A game which can be summed up by the phrase “defence is optional” (Monty coined the phrase after the game). But defence was optional, but Joue is the Thundercat way in my opinion.
After some good opening pressure from the TCs, Old Bs turned the ball over and managed to break the line. Despite some heroic covering by Leo, they were able to finish under the posts. 7-0.
Despite this set back, the TCs put Old Bs under great pressure from the KO and we turned the ball over instantly and were straight back on the front foot. Some good defence from Old B’s could only keep us out for a few minutes, and by the 20th (or so) it was 7-5. And by the 25th minute it was 7-12. T
Cs looked strong, but some handling errors and some naive defending let Old Bs back in the game, and then scored 4 more unanswered before halftime.
33-12 half time. 2nd half was all TCs, our play in hand was magical at moments and the both played with freedom and class. But the deficit was too great and some defensive mistake resulted in the final score of 43-29. It what must have been a great game for the spectators.
